Facilities

Here at Special Friends we are always investing in our premises and in-house equipment so that we can provide a high standard of care to our patients.

Our facilities include:

• Free parking
• Large air conditioned waiting area, with a separate area for cats
• 3 consulting rooms
• Separate, air conditioned  and recently refurbished dog and cat wards
• Isolation ward
• In-house laboratory capable of running haematology, biochemistry and urine tests; also in-house microscopy
• Daily courier service (Mon-Fri) to IDEXX laboratories for any tests not able to be run on the premises
• Newly built operating suite, with two theatres, dental facilities, modern anaesthetic equipment with multi-parameter monitoring
• Digital xray
• Ultrasound
• Orthopaedic referral standard operations on site (by arrangement)

If we cannot provide a particular diagnostic test (e.g. MRI scan) or feel your pet would benefit from more specialist treatment, your vet will discuss with you a range of options as to other referral centres that will be able to help.
